Spring rolls are awesome because they are so versatile and you can really add whatever ingredients you like. My husband actually made this and created the recipe himself; I was VERY impressed!
Spring Rolls
Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp sesame oil
- ⅓-½ head green cabbage shredded
- 3 carrots shredded
- 3 green onions chopped
- 1 lb ground chicken or pork
- 1 package egg roll wrappers
- 1 egg whisked
- vegetable or canola oil
Instructions
- Heat oil in wok over medium heat. Add cabbage, carrots, and green onions. Saute until cabbage has fully wilted and vegetables are soft.
- Remove vegetables and set aside. Add ground meat to wok and cook completely. Once thoroughly cooked, add vegetables and stir until completely mixed in.
- Remove from heat. Place about three spoonfuls in one egg wrapper. Brush the edges with egg wash. Form into rolls by folding three corners over the filling, then rolling towards the unfolded corner.
- Heat vegetable or canola oil in a deep skillet. Fry rolls in the hot oil, turning so all sides are cooked evenly. Remove and place on paper towels to cool slightly.
